Automatic append ?OpenDocument to documents in a view?

I have a database with a view of web-documents. The view contains 5 documents.

The first column is sorted and displays the field “QuickID”.

The view looks like this:

doc1/sub/trash

doc2/sub/trash

doc3/sub/trash

doc4/sub/trash

doc5/sub/trash

When I want to open a document (ex. with the value i the first column: “doc1/sub/trash” from a web browser), I call the document using: http://localhost/mydb.nsf/webDocs/doc1/sub/trash?OpenDocument.

To open the document from web, I have to append ?OpenDocument to the QuickID value (and I know why).

Does anyone know if it is possible to tell a view or the server to automaticly append ?OpenDocument when called from a web browser?

Torben,

The view design has no control over what is happening here, so I don’t see how it can help you. What I sometimes do, however, is format my url more like this:

http://server/db.nsf&id=doc3

And then my db open event is a page which looks for this format and opens the correct document based upon the id passed in &id=doc3, above.

It’ll end up showing the nasty url in the address bar, but at least users won’t see it when they click on a link.

regards,

raphael

How about having two columns – one hidden from clients – one hidden from web?
