We have a user whose Sent file was just cleared of 14000 documents (no, that’s not a typo!). He’s willing to save only the last 60 days of Sent mail, but I’m trying to find a way to automatically delete a Sent folder item after 60 days. The easiest way I’ve found yet is to set Lotus to NOT save any Sent items, but create a rule that any incoming email from the user himself will be put in a folder called Sent Items, and given an expiry date of 60 days. Then, when he sends an email, he’ll cc it to himself, and the copy will only be saved for 60 days. It’ll work, but it’s a bit cumbersome, and he may get tired of cc-ing himself. Is there a way to automatically cc someone on every email? Is there an easier way to set an expiry date on sent email? Thanks!

Why not just use the Achive settings to delete?
Actions > Archive > settings.
Go to the Settings tab and click on Add.
Give it a name, e.g. Delete old Sent mail
Choose the option Just clean up the data without archiving.
Click on Select Documents.
Set it to not modified in 60 days.
Click on In these views and choose sent.
OK
OK
and then enable the archive.
