We’ve set up user authentification against the LDAP-Directory from Sun (SunOne). All works fine and very well.
But the LDAP-Admin has some problems and say that this is our Domino Server.
So we’ve figured out two strange things:
-
Why is Domino contacing the LDAP-Directory with scope=2 ? Where can I change this satting ?
-
When a user is authenticated domino starts a second search against LDAP with SRCH base=cn=user name,ou=ou1,o=organisation*. What the hell means “*” ? Why is Domino doing this ?
Thanks for any information.

If you see “Creating a Directory Assistance document for a remote LDAP directory”
http://www-12.lotus.com/ldd/doc/domino_notes/Rnext/help6_admin.nsf/f4b82fbb75e942a6852566ac0037f284/2da18c1eaeee726385256c1d003940ea?OpenDocument
near the bottom there is “type of search filter to use”. The custom section describes the default LDAP filters used for various purposes.
Use webauth_verbose_trace if you need to provide authentication information to the forum or support.
