on messages received the attachments are showing way to the top even though the sender had attachments at the bottom of their note to me. When I right click on the attachment to do a save and delete, none of the Save or Delete options are available…they are all greyed out.
Subject: this is a deliberate change in the way we place attachment based on customer feedback
now all attachments in MIME messages are placed on an area on top of the e-mail - above message body
You can continue to find Save option when you select the attachment and right click - not on the body text
Subject: this is a definite problem/bug
do it this new way, removes the capability to save and delete attachments efficiently…I don’t know what customers were talked to but the ones I know will absolutely hate the way 8.5 does this and will NOT upgrade to it. I am removing the 8.5 beta now based on this one new unneeded feature!
Subject: “save and delete” greyed out
this is definately not a feature - my mail file grows beyond comprehension - please restore the ability to save and delete so I can save files to document repository and get it out of my mail file
I’m not sure which client’s you all talked to - but getting rid of my flexibility to manage my documents in my company’s approved process is ludicrous.
Subject: THSE7NJR6Z - cannot save incoming e-mail attachments
Are there any new developments on this? I’m a new Notes user (8.5) and the ability to delete attachments (better yet, save and delete) would help greatly. I will have already saved the attachment in the appropriate folder in my file management hierarchy. Saving the same attachment in the Notes mail database is unnecessarily redundant.
Subject: This makes it tricky to select the text, including the attachements to copy
With older clients, one could select the body text including attachments and copy & paste it to another documents rich text field.
With 8.5, the selection is tricky and the attachments may not be included in the paste action and have to be copied&pasted separately… seems like a bug to me…
