I am having some trouble working with roles, is it possible to assign a group to a role or will roles only work with an individual user?

Hey there, I recently installed the 8.5 client, working against R703 FP1 servers.
I’ve just noticed that i’m missing any elements where I gain access through roles.
For example… we have buttons on a database and I gain my manager access through a group. Roles are assigned to this group that allow me to see various buttons. These do not show up.
I have the same problem the reservation template… I can’t see the Delete and add new rooms.
And I have seen a similiar problem with regard to editing documents in the NAB. Specifically policy docs. These are also applied to roles.
This one has me a bit worried. I’m investigating further. Would be interested to know if anyone is running with 8.5 clients on older server versions. I would expect that roles would be backward compatible.

Subject: Roles work fine with groups
We’ve always used Roles and Groups. If they are not working for you, ensure that your users are actually in the groups you think they should be.
