I know I could have this build in Lotus Notes but perhaps someone has done it already. Anyone could suggest or point me to the right direction please?
I am looking for a software (Notes/Domino compatible so we can use part of the busy time functions) that could be used to schedule 30 minutes appointment at multiple locations.
Those appointment are booked by about 200 people at the same time so “Live” updates are important.
For example, lets use Car Wash.
I have 40 car wash in 15 cities. I have 200 people booking wash appointment for clients at any given time.
Those car wash locations can change on a regular basis. so ability to modify sites easily is also important.
So lets say client A phones and request an Wash. Dispatcher will ask what City is closer then lookup locations in that city.
Client will say Location ACB is closer, can I get that?
Dispatcher can check the available time slots and propose a 2pm appointment.
To this point, it is fine. but…
If one of the other Dispatcher books that time slot at that location, the first Dispatcher should see it come up as booked within seconds.
Also, if the client says any location is OK, then Dispatcher should be able to see Busy Time for the 3 or 4 locations at the same time…
You think something like that has been done?

Yes . We have done this . We used it for finding if the conference room are busy.

Subject: Resource Reservations
You can achieve what you describe with the native Resource Reservations database. While the default application deals with the terms Rooms and Resources which belong to Sites, those could just as easily be Car Wash Locations which belong to Cities. Any ‘thing’ - be it a conference room, an LCD projector, a car, a car wash lane or a barber chair - that can be identified and can only be utilized by one (primary) user for any given duration can be scheduled.

I thought about that and even done a sample database. The 2 main problems I found were as follow:
1- management is complicated as those “locations” change on a regular basis and to give access to anyone else than administrators to add and remove Sites and Resources in far from being an easy task
2- People looking up those resources can not see the new reservations “Live” (as they are done) unless they refresh their applications all the time.
3- It is not possible to have a “Graphical” representation of the various resources in one view where the users could simply click on a time slot and reserve it. (this graphical representation should have the hability to show all the resources (car wash) of that one site (city)…
Now that I am thinking of it, it would even be nice to have a “proximity” locator which would show resources of other sites within a certain radius…
Although R&R is a great system, it is not flexible enough to support what I need.
On the other hand, I know exactly what I would like to have but I do not have a developer who can do it… Nor can I do it…
That is why I hope there is someone somewhere who has already created something similar…
