Anyone having as much troble with the designer as me?

The designer obviously is quite different than what I am used to in version 7. Sounds like there are some neat features, but, at this point in time I am not very productive.

  1. Double clicks instead of single clicks to open design elements - I guess I could overlook my carple tunnel, but why the step backwards?

  2. Have to select [text, table, etc] properties twice, since the properties box always disappears - big time productivity decrease,

  3. I tried changing the sort order on a date column in a view - didn’t work. I hope I didn’t break my application now that I decided to go back to 8.0

Oh well, I guess I’ll wait for the gold version to check out xpages…

Subject: some responses

Double click is the default because it is the Eclipse default. But we have changed the code to listen to the Eclipse preference that indicates whether single or double click should open things. You’ll see that change in the next beta.

There have also been a good number of bug fixes since beta was released, particuarly around infobox behavior, so the next time you see Designer, you should see a significant improvement.

If all you did was change a view property, I would not be worried about your application being broken going back to 8.0.
