Any suggestions on how to accomplish this

We have a hub and spoke topology. All outlying servers have no tape drive for backup. Therefore we keep a replica of each users mail file on the central server.

Here’s the problem, the outlying administrators are allowed to create new users but sometimes they forget to create the replica of the new users mail database. Unfortunately you can’t specify (at least last I checked) a replica creation in the new user policy.

Is there something out there that would perform and audit to make sure all outlying server mail files are being replicated back to the central server?

Right now I create a file list with ‘ls’ in Linux, compile the entire list and do a ‘comm’ against an ‘ls’ from the central server. Messy…

Thanks for looking…

How about modifying the mail template and to implement a little script - say, in the database open event - that checks for the existence of a replica of the given database on that central server and sends a mail to somebody if no replica is found?

You could certainly use Lotusscript to go through the hub servers and verifiy if a mail file is on the central server. Then it could be automated with agents to always run.

I THINK there are some e-mail type tools either in openntf.org or the sandbox. I’d be surprised if this hasn’t been done already. I guess I could also be thinking of a commercial package…
