We are getting a project together to upgrade to R6. The plan includes upgrading the servers first, then the clients.
Are there any known issues running the R5 client against an R6 server? Can I upgrade the Resource Reservations db and R5 clients still use it? What about the discussion database template?

You can run a R5 client against a R6 database.
BUT… You can not run R6 commands/functions/codes within your R5 client.
So assuming that the resource reservations does not have any new code specific for R6, I would say yes. My bet is that if you know R5 users are going to using this database then you should stick to the lowest common denominator (template-wise). Same for any of the other templates.
It may pay to just test the database on you own desktop to help give you confidence with your choices.
