AntiVirus option for Domino 7.0.1 on RedHat Linux 4.0

Is there is any anti-virus for domino 7.0.1 on LINUX is available ??

Trend Micro is currently testing the compatibility of SMD 3.0 for Linux (Intel) on Lotus Domino 7. The estimated availability date is December 2006.

Thanks in advance for your responses…

Am pretty sure that SecurIQ (used to be called WatchDog) supports that combination.

Look at www.group-technologies.com for detailed info

we also seel & support this (although not me personally) see www.uals.co.uk

Lotus Domino 7.0 on Linux is supported Trend Micro SMD2.6 FP1 (see the Trend Micro Knowledgebase).

Don’t count on the “estimate” in that particular “Trend Micro is currently testing compatibility”-article in the knowledgebase… I’ve been monitoring that article since about a year ago, and every single time the deadline was near, it is moved by a couple of months.

SMD2.6 FP1 works for us on Linux but it has been a royal pain that we’re not able to standardize our Scanmail install to 3.0.

(If anybody from Trend Micro is reading this: GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER PLEASE!)

cheers,

Bram

I use the SMD 2.6 FP1 on my environment, because as business partner its necessary to run the Domino 7 servers on linux, the customers are asking for it. I also have problems with Version 2.6, I got every day a couple of mails, the filter block them ba reason "file unscanned" - but this are only simple text mails. The function reactivate and resend are full of bugs, if I try this my local virus-scanner ( I think its a important application on my admin client) reports me virus alert on all documents in the quarantain db. My last information of Customer Care of TM was that they havnt yet started to bring a version 3 to RHEL4 and domino 7.

Thats the reason I look for a new produkt, in a mixed environment I don`t want to work with two different scanners and the double amount of licence fees.

From my past experience (on Windows sorry), nothing makes the “uncrashable” domino server crash like anti-virus/anti-spam.

It would be much better to set up an alternative device between your firewall/gateway and the domino server (or if your firewall can do an adequate job, install the AV/F modules on that).

That way you wont be tampering with Domino and are less likely to be affected by downtime. You will also have a much wider choice of OSes and Software.
