Hi,We are using a Trend Micro ScanMail as an antivirus and content security for Domino environments. But we’d like to try anything more complex and simplier.
Has someone any suggestions or experiences, please?
Thanks in advance. Jiri Krakora

Subject: SpamSifter works good for us on iSeries and Windows
You’ll get a lot of replies on this question as there are good products out there, and it will come down to price I think.
We (organization of about 400 users) use Spam Sifter from INVCS. What’s nice is that they have a true native product that runs on just about all domino platforms (we needed it as we added it to our iSeries server and it worked great).
Incidentally they invented the email summary reports which others have copied. We just upgraded to their most recent version (2.1) which has a web based self-service where end-users can check their spam list any time they want from Notes, iNotes or a POP3/IMAP client, blackberry even.
Plus they are good about adding any little features you may want.
hope that helps.

Just out of interest which version of Scanmail are you running on Dom 7.0.2 ? and on what platforms ? SM 3.0 on Windows is working very well but on RHES4 this doesn’t work…we are still to receive an answer from Trend to when this will be supported/available.
We are in the same position as you are, as we have half a solution. So we’d also like to know of an Antivirus Solution for Domino v7.0.2 and eventually v8. We don’t require Antispam as we have a 3rd party responsible for this.

It’s the ScanMail v. 3.0, running on SLES 10.

We’ve been using SpamSentinel version 5.0 on ourDomino server for a couple of years and it works great. It catches everything. It is made by Mayflower software.

Dear Derren,Thanks for your answer.
ScanMail catches everything, too. Sadly the “not spam” messages as well.
How do you use a whitelist in SpamSentinel? And how does the whitelist works?
Thanks

It works very well. The admin can either whitelist domains manually through the server admin console(called Dashboard), or you can set SpamSentinel up where it mails each user a Spam report at particular times of the day, detailing what has been caught in the filter.
If an email domain happened to get blocked in the filter for some reason, the users themselves have the ability to highlight the mail detailed in this Spam report, click a button and add the domain or email address to the whitelist.

We’ve been running SpamSentinel for nearly a year (clicky) which can scan for spam and viruses, and have been very pleased with it so far. Very easy to install, no false positives, and decent support should you run into any difficulties.
