Notes Domino 6 System Administration 1 is designed for someone who is first starting out as a Lotus Domino Administrator. It covers how to install and setup the Lotus Domino server and the Lotus Notes clients. Students will actually install and configure a small Lotus Domino network from the ground up. They will learn how to use the Lotus Domino Administrator client and understand how Lotus Domino security works including user ID files, server access control, and database Access Control Lists. They will learn how to configure mail routing between Lotus Domino servers and between Lotus Domino and the Internet. Students will configure replication between servers and find out how to control what replicates. They will also learn special tips and tricks to troubleshoot mail routing and replication issues.
This course will typically take 3 days to complete but students can progress through the courses at their own pace and on their schedule. The price of this course is normally $599 but for a limited time TLCC is offering a special introductory price of $499. The course is available now.
The second course in the series, Notes Domino 6 System Administration 2, covers more advanced topics, such as mail routing between different domains, preventing spam, and user management, needed to maintain and fine tune an existing Lotus Domino infrastructure. Students will learn how to manage Lotus Domino users, from registration to renaming to deletion. They will learn how to setup the roaming user and multi-user workstation features. Students will discover how to control their users’ settings through policies. They will learn how to monitor the Lotus Domino servers and how to be notified when certain events happen. They will learn how to manage mail delivery, both within the organization and between the organization and the internet. Students will learn how to keep spam under control with blacklists and mail rules. Students will learn to configure a Lotus Domino server to function as a web server and allow users to access their mail file from a web browser. Finally, students will dive into advanced administration topics, such as the CA process for certification, administering Lotus Domino from a web browser, and setting up secondary directories.
