Android powered mobile phones?

Does 8.5 and/or traveler support android-powered mobile-phones?Does anyone know, how to get emails/calendar/contacts get synchronized with e.g. HTC hero or other android-mobiles?

Does anyone got an idea which software (even third-party) to use with android-mobiles?

Thanks in advance

Subject: MyLink for Android works without Traveler

MyLink for Lotus provides a full sync of Lotus Notes via USB (Mails, calendar, contacts, tasks and notes).

MyLink Enterprise provides a comprehensive pushmail solution for Domino and android devices. It is compatible with the following devices:

HTC G1

HTC TATOO

HTC MAGIC

HTC HERO

SAMSUNG GALAXY

ARCHOS INTERNET TABLET

LG GW620

MOTOROLA DEXT

MOTOROLA DROID

HUAWEI

Works fine with Android 1.0, 1.1, 1.5, 1.6, 2.0,2.0.1.

MyLink is available at www.waveglobal.net and does not need Traveler or ActiveSync. Push engine has been fully developped in-house by Wave.

Subject: From Lee Griffin…

Hi Wilhelm. We’ve had a few requests for adding Android to the Traveler supported devices. So far, the requests have been for small numbers of devices but I expect this will increase significantly in 2010. I also expect that some enterprise customers will begin to serious evaluate these devices in the next year or so. I am not aware of any third party software that does the sync with Notes/Domino today.

Subject: Android and Traveler

I have a Android from Verizon.

This is a Motorola Droid model.

I found a third party app in the Android Market (App Store) called TouchDown from NitroDesk. This app does the ActiveSync on the phone and it just works. Mail, Calendar, and Contacts. Since Traveler thinks this is a iPhone, there are no Tasks. But who uses tasks anyway.

Have not tested other functions. I have installed in a very small company. They are not using any policies, so I do not know if they work.

Subject: works great!

Thanks for pointing me to this! Touchdown from Nitrodesk (also ‘Exchange for Android 2.0’) did the trick for me. It’s a $10 app from the Android App store that makes an Android phone look like an iPhone to Lotus Traveler. Use the apps ‘quick configuration’, fill in the user’s email address as the userid, leave the email address blank, fill in the internet password, and use the Traveler address as the server name. The app recognizes that it is talking to a Domino server and makes internal adjustments so that everything works.
