Tried to setup an ActiveSync account on my Android based HTC Hero mobile phone.Traveler 8.5.1 is running on Windows 2003 (x86).
Login seems to work but I receive a “Failed to create the account” while a finish the setup.
Server address I use is : /servlet/traveler
Unfortuneately it works excellent with a “real Exchange server” !
Any help is highly welcome !
Thanks
paul
Subject: Found a solution
Problem must be the original client on the HTC Hero phone.Installed RoadSync from DataViz
(http://www.dataviz.com/products/roadsync/index.html)
which is an “normal” Exchange sync tool.
Works great without any limitation with Traveler 8.5.1.
Cheers
Paul
Subject: How have You made this?
I’ve tried Traveller 8.5.1 with a P990i and RoadSync 2.13 (334) and only got these: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/5f27803bba85d8e285256bf10054620d/242a8f71270069c3852576550056a213?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,roadsync
Problems. I’ve waited since beginning of 2009 to get 8.5.1. Can You tell me how You have the traveller server configured and which version of RoadSync do You use?
Thanks

Subject: Not working for me
Thanks for the instructions. This is very interesting development. I cannot get it to work though.
Error message:
“Sync error: (-1000) Status code may not be negative (IllegalArgumentException)”
I’m using HTC Hero with Android 1.5 and Roadsync for android 1.0010(110).
Hopefully the update to Android 2.0 will make the built-in ActiveSync to work.
Subject: Traveler and Android
At this time the Android device has not been tested and is not supported. Currently the only devices supported via Active Sync connection is the Apple I-Phone and I-Touch.
Android is on our list for future releases. Sorry for any inconvenience.
