Since yesterday, our domino server crashes within a minute or less after start. If I disable amgr, then the server runs stable. But if I turn it on, amgr crashes again and the whole server with it.
I’ve done different fixup, compact and updall on all databases but the problem still exists.
I’ve no idea what to do at next. The NSD log also seems not very usefull. It’s quite big (about 700 kb) to post. Shoud I?
Fact is amgr starts and crashes a few seconds later.
Btw: The domino log shows something like this before the crash:
“AMgr: Scanning 4 database(s) that were unavailable earlier due active Fixup”
I also didn’t found a solution in similar post. Has anybody an idea?

yes that’s exactly what i think.but here is the problem: i don’t know which one is corrupt. and as i’ve mentioned i’ve done some fixup, compact and updall over all databases.

Patrick,
If you look at the FATAL THREAD section, it will be mapped to a process ID. Then with the PID, you will be able to find which db was access by this PID.

I had the same error. Did you make changes to an agent? I did a stupid error and had an string going to an integer or some mismatch. As simple as that. And instead of just recording that error in the log and stop running the agent it took down the whole server.
If you have support with lotus they can tell you which agent it is. Or if you know what you have changed, run each agent manually and hopefully you will get the ‘popup’ message saying type mismatch on what field.

I encountered this same error on a Windows 2003 svr running Domino 6.5.3. The AMgr kept causing a Domino restart. Turns our a user used a Notes tech tip to set her Out of Office using the following instructions:
Here is a really nice time-saving feature. When you create a calendar entry
for your vacation (in the form of an all day event, for example), choose
“vacation” in the field labeled “categorize.” When you save the entry, Lotus
Notes will automatically ask you if you want to set up the Out of Office feature.
Click yes, and the Out of Office window will pop up and you can set your message
from there.
Once I disabled her out of office and restarted the server everything went back to normal.

Hi,
Post your NSD files here (only the FATAL THREAD section with the 5-20 lines just under it) or look for the FATAL THREAD section in your files and look in the forum faq (Under NSD section) for a few links about troubleshooting Notes crash.

So I was away for a week. In the meantime, I’ve installed the 6.5.5fixpack2 upgrade of domino server. But still the same problem. I’ve also read the NSD paper. But in the nsd-crash log isn’t any call stack trace with an exception, panic or something else. I also don’t have a clue which DB the error produces. I have no idea what to do next…
