In the Lotus Notes clients, I have users who want to only give people access to their calendar and to do items. Contacts are fine too. However, when they choose “Read Any Calendar, To Do, or Contact” option under Access as well as the “Calendar, To Do, and Contacts” under Components in the “Add People/Groups” dialog box within the “Access & Delegation” tab, the person or group also gains access to the mail as well. My users don’t want others to have access to mail, just the calendar. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong in a setting somewhere?
Thanks for your response.
Subject: not sure it’s a bug
Jason, did you actually see the person having access to the mailbox with mail contents? We are using LN8.5 clients and we have Default setting where Everyone can see all calendars(ONLY), but this also enables them to open users’ mailbox, but can only see calendar entries, invitations, meeting confirmations, but not the real email, in short just calendar related entries, but not the actual mail.Otherwise, after adding the person’s name to have access, you can further restrict it by clicking Change Access under Access to Your Mail and Calendar tab, where it says Anyone who accesses your mailfile will be allowed to do the following.
'Hope this helps.
Subject: I’ll have to double check
I’ll have to double check when I go back to that client’s location!!! Never thought about it just being calendar entries.
Subject: not a bug, here’s the deal.
You are right, it’s not a bug. Here’s what the person can see:
Any calendar related entry (meeting invitations, Room/Resource Reservations, etc)
Mails from others where person viewing was included in the message either in To or CC: field
Mails from person.
Names of Folders set up.
And that was it.
