Agent to move tagged spam to folder

We have software in place to tag spam in the headers. During the testing phase, we have also tagged it in the subject line so that we can test what is being tagged and write rules to move the spam to a folder. There’s a good possibility that we will remove the tag in the subject line so that users will not think that their mail has been tampered with. If so, we will need to replace the rules w/agents to move the spam. I’m not an administrator and don’t know the effect that agents running every time mail arrives will have on the servers. So my question is for anyone running agents to move spam…has there been a noticable difference in server load and performance? Do you have any other suggestions/thoughts on this? Also, to give you an idea of our size, we are a university and have thousands of users, although I can’t say that most will use this service.

Thanks in advance.

The question is sort of load in that how will run the agent.

I would recommend to have the agent run in the context of the document via before mail arrives. This method of running will be invoked via the router task than the amgr. With what you are doing (looking at a document and moving to a folder), it is not massive processing.

There is an article in the Agent FAQ with a sample program that does this, I used it to base my SPAM filter.
