i want say thank you for the answer at may post of yesterday, but i didn’ solve my problem at all. I’m trying to kind of agent:agent before mail arrives and the sending of message mail to my database checking the option “include the copy…”, it send a mail but ane empty mail!
then if i have tried to do it after mail arrives it worked twice then it is stopped…i don’t know why.
Any suggestion? It is very important…

I read your original post and have what may be a silly question.
It states you are using this to save outgoing mail in your previous post. Instead of using client agents, why not use server rules and journaling instead?
Subject: RE: agent does not work …
because is ingoing mail, not outgoing…i have already journaled all my outgoing mails in a very simple way and i don’t understand why is so difficult to do the same with ingoing mail…any suggestion?
Subject: RE: agent does not work …
We journal all our incoming internet mails. Simple rule, Sender contains . catches em.
Those from Notes domains we simple journal Sender contains “@ACME”, etc.
Or maybe a single rule for just “@” should get them all (mmm have to try that one myself).
Subject: RE: agent does not work …
I have put a rule on my server with sender contains (condition)But the journaled mails are only outgoing mail not incoming…
please help me
Subject: RE: agent does not work …
What is the exact rule and condition? The one I use is contains . (dot). No quotes. This should catch all inbound internet mails.
Other option is the All Documents condition which picks up everything passing through mail.box.
Have you remembered to do a Set Rule on the console after altering your rule?
Subject: RE: agent does not work …
the condition is: subject does not contains private (in italian is the word privato - without quote). The rule works really fine for outgoing mail…i have changed the journal now to do not the copy in database but to send message in my mail-in database…it works very well even in this way too…but it didn’t journal may incoming mail…only the outgoing…maybe i must do something on my server configuration?thanks very much
Subject: RE: agent does not work …
May I suggest you try a 2nd rule as I described, which should catch all inbound internet mails. Once you prove this works we can refine it.
So Sender contains . then journal
There is definitely nothing additional to do on the server, once your server configuration document has been setup for journalling.
Subject: RE: agent does not work …
i’ve tried but the rule and the journal don’t journal my incoming mail…it is sad…mail outgoing mail is journaled…maybe i wrote something wrong in mail in…i don’t know…other suggest?

Hello Marina,
I just want to clarify something. There are mail rules in an individuals mail file and then there are system mail rules that act on mail sent to the router. In which area are you expecting incoming mail to be journalled?
