VoltMX Iris version 9.5 fixpack 16 was updated to fixpack 22.
Java SDK 8 was updated to Java SDK 11 as required per release notes.
Also had to increase the SDK target version from 13.0 (33) to 14.0 (34) and the
SDK minimum version from 5.0 (21) to at least 9.0 (28) or 10.0 (29) to be able to successfully build.
Since then the applications built on this configuration crash each time the camera is used. The applications are built for android mobile and use Scandit for barcode scan.
They run on android mobile phones.
Please help to provide a solution for this problem.
Has this problem been reported by others? Is it a known problem with the camera and scandit?
BTW: the size of the application .apk almost tripled in size with fixpack 22. Is this to be expected or normal?
Hi @Elisabeth Eberl,
I can see back-to-back two community talk on the same topic. Shall I consider one?
Let me know which barcode scanner you are using. Marketplace link please for easy understanding.
Thanks,
Gaurab
Hi Gaurab Banerjee,
Yes, you can consider one. I posted the second one because I couldn't find my post using the link provided in the initial email.
We are using Scandit barcode scanner version 6.14.1. I have also tried version 6.22.1 but it had the same problem.
What do you mean by "Marketplace link please for easy understanding."
thanks,
Elisabeth Eberl
Hi @Elisabeth Eberl,
First of all, this specific barcode scanner is a community posted asset and not maintained by the HCL Marketplace team internally.
We will try to take a look at this. But at the same time as we do not have the source code, we are not sure how long it may take to come back to this point.
Thanks,
Gaurab
Hi Gaurab,
Thanks.
The problem has now been solved.

Elisabeth Eberl
