Advise to build a Web searchbox with AJAX

Hi I working on Web searchbox that should show some Dropdown-field with @Dbcolumn and @DbLookups.

Depended on what is choosen in the first Dropdown-field list Drop-down 2 and 3 Content shall be created.

Since Its a Database with many Documents it take times to reload the page using the traditional method.

Have anybody tried it with AJAX and have a Sample to share.
