Please bear with me. I’m a new Admin with basic questions:
I have a second address book that I’d like to use as a shared resourse for my company.
We manage properties for a number of people.
The address book contain owner, and tenant information.
How can I register it with the ofice notes clients so that it is looked at for names in addition to thier personal address book??
Am I even using the right tool?
I assume it’s not good practice to put this sort of information into the Domino Directory
Thanks for your help and guidance

Subject: Adress Book added to lookup
The “registration” part happens automatically if the server knows that the database is a names directory – look in Administrator Help for “Directory Assistance”.
Subject: Lookup Directory Assistance in the Admin Help.
It fully details how to add a secondary address book.

I created the second address book on a DFS Share (Windows Server 2003) because of our distributed network but you could put the file on the Domino Server.
I set up replication of that address book to a file on the local PCs everytime Notes starts.
Then I just went to File - Preferences - User Preferences. Hit the Mail tab and put the name of the other address book after the main address book in the box “Local Address Books”
It seems to do the job. I only have to update one place and the changes go out to everyone.
