How does one get to the Administration Preferences if you cannot open the client itself?
I recently upgraded to 8.5.1 and I cannot open the Admin Client – get:
"No default domain found:
Please set your Administrator Preferences to the domains you want to manage"
But I have no way of getting to those preferences…
Do I need to reinstall? Do I need to set a notes.ini setting?

I had the same problem after editing the preferences in the admin client not realizing there was no default domain set. I tried a number of things then, I don’t know what made me think of it, but here’s what I did…
Close all Notes clients.
Run nlnotes.exe from your notes install folder.
Once the client opens you can click on File->Preferences-> and have all the old style options, including “Administration Preferences”.
Open the admin prefs and set your default domain and server
Close the client and you should be able to open the admin client with no problems.

AdminLastDomain=NAME NOTESDOMAIN
Description:
The last domain used by the admin client
Subject: No luck with that…
Tried:AdminLastDomain=MyDomain
AdminLastServer=CN=MyServer/O=MyDomain
Still cannot get the Admin client to start up.
