Address book lookup

Hello all!I’ve this request from my customer: they wants that the address book preview the full name of the address on the address bar.

They have a shared address book managed by a DA db. When they put an address that have more matches it appear a list of found address with the full name of that people.

When istead there is only one match it just put the e-mail address. They wants that instead of the e-mail appear the full name of the receiver. This is in order to not make confusion since sometimes the mail is not in the standard name.surname form.

There is a way to set Lotus Notes to work in this way?

Just to explan me better:

This is what appen when I search “Fabio” (more matches): ImageShack - immagine1oo.jpg

And the if I select myself I can see my full name on the to: address space: ImageShack - immagine2iy.jpg

But if I search a user that have only one match it show me the mail address ImageShack - immagine3m.jpg

Anyone can suggest how change the Notes config in order to show alway name and surname?

Thanks,

Fabio

Subject: You can change it in your contacts

If I understand the problem the user is sent a message from a contact not in the address book. When the message is opened the e-mail address is added to the recent contacts.

However the name is displaying only the e-mail address and not the “pretty name”.

You can change this to display the name by opening the contact and modify the e-mail address there.

Steps

Start Notes

Open ->Contacts

Choose “Recent Contacts”

Select the contact you want to modify

Click the Move to My Contacts button

Choose “My Contacts”

Open the contact you want to modify

Edit the e-mail address how you’d like it to show

For instance “John Smith” jsmith@xyz.com

Subject: The problem isn’t with recent contacts

Hello and thanks for your help!

The problem is not with the recent contacts (that I’ve also deleted to prevent conflict) but with a shared address book.

My customer want that every address is show on the client with the pretty name and not with the mail address.

Thanks
