I have a Domino 6.5.2 server that is the primary server for my domino domain.
I added a second 6.5.2 server as an additional server, and using the “Utility Server” install option, as all I need it for is sametime. I also configured it as a “configuration directory” so it would replicate the NAB from the primary.
On start up, the additional server complains that it can’t find the primary to replicate with, and that it’s not a known tcp/ip host.
DNS is correctly configured, the network works, and I specified the FQHN of both machines during setup.
From the server console, are you able to trace servername or trace ip address? How about from the primary server, are you able to trace the additional server by name or ip address??
Subject: RE: Additional Server can’t find primary?
Yup, both are OK.
Strangely enough, if I configure it not as a configuration directory, but in the standard way, it will replicate the NAB from the primary, and, more or less, work. LDAP fails trying to replicate the schema from the primary, but sametime works OK, and instant messaging works for (almost) everyone. Some users can’t login to IM (password error), but I think that may be a replication issue, and I’m going to try making connection documents and replication schedules on both servers…
