I am trying to figure out an acurate way of calculating an “expirationDate” field based on the “issueDate” field. The expiration date will always be 5 years after the issue date for all docs. Do I use the issue date and just add 86400 times 365 times 5? Will there always be 365 days in a year?Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you!

Use the @Adjust function to add or subtract years, months, days, hours, minutes, seconds:
@Adjust(IssueDate;5;0;0;0;0;0)

Thank you. I used your formula but keep getting the error message when I try to open a doc or create a ne one. “Field:‘ExpDate’: Incorrect data type for operator of @function: time/data expeted”.The formula, @Adjust(IssueDate;5;0;0;0;0;0), is located in the ExpDate field and its a computed time/date field. The IssueDate field is also computed time/date.
The IssueDate field is blank. It appears the formula is expecting data in the IssueDate field. But how can you have data there when you are first creating a document? How do you get areound this?
Thank you.

You need to check whether the IssueDate has been completed in the formula for your ExpDate field.
@if(IssueDate = “”; “”; @Adjust(IssueDate;5;0;0;0;0;0));

Thanks! That did it!

The @Adjust function will do this.
