Activities Plus CompPack 7 Boards wont load after install due to Mixed Content Issues

I have installed a new build of Component Pack 7 with Activities Plus (Kudos Boards) all works fine apart from when trying to render the page for Activities Plus we get just a white page in the browser and looking at the development console in a web browser it is telling me the following:

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://connections.com/boards/auth/connections' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet 'http://connections.com:8080/static/css/'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

I have double checked the yaml config file the URLs are all set as https the httpd conf is correct, I have registered it with oauth as normal and all other parts of the Component pack are working fine its just boards. Has anyone else had this or got any ideas on how to fix this.

Hi Richard,

I did some research on the error and didn't find anything specific to the Connections Component Pack, or Activities Plus. However, I did find that this error has been seen with Portal when there's a proxy server in the environment. Do you have any kind proxy server, SSO solution, or load balancer that may require additional configuration related to the Activities Plus URLs?

Hi Tony, unfortunately there is no proxy just the normal http server. We are forcing https but I have other environments with Activities plus and also force https so I don’t think that’s the issue.

Hi Richard,

Additional to Anthony's reply above. If SSL is enforced in your Connections environment, I would verify that forceConfidentialCommunications flag is set to true in your environment LotusConnections-config.xml file(s).

Hi Jason we are forcing https and the flag is indeed set in the config.xml. It certainly is a strange one it seems to be failing because of 2 things a Java file and the style sheet and the address it wants to pull these is on port 8080 hence it being blocked. I have rebuilt it twice now and still same problem.

Hi Richard,

Sorry for the late response. Open a case with the HCL Support team to help assist with this strange issue.

Just as an update on this, I installed the latest 7.0.0.2 version of Component Pack the other day and Boards started working so not sure if there was a defect in 7.0.0.1 but I didn’t change any of the config files just ran a straight upgrade.

Hi Richard,

I would recommend to have a look at the current images of Huddo Boads. They are updated much more frequently, with new features as well as bug fixes.

This has always worked relatively smoothly for us.
