I have an action button on a form (Export to Excel). When I am in the designer client, I see the action button, and I also see it if I do a Design - Preview in Notes from the designer client. However, when I launch the db via the Notes client, I don’t see the action button. I have no hide when formula enabled. On the properties of the Action Button, I have – include action in action bar and include action in action menu checked.
close the database completely in designer and in the notes client machine. better yet, restart Lotus Notes all together. Sounds like the client may be caching an old copy of th form. You may also need to delete your cache.ndk to clear up the issue.
1 more thing to try, place the “missing” button as the second action button then save your view. Now close the database and remove the icon from your workspace and the bookmark from your bookmark bar in designer and in the notes client. now add the icon back. open the view then press and hold the Alt button on your keyboard, this should number all of the actions. Do the numbers appear in order, is there 1 number skipped (where the missing action should be), if skipped try pressing the skipped number while still holding Alt and see if the action is initialized. After that I am at a loss.
Paul,Just wanted to say a big thanks for your persistence in trying to help me resolve my problem. I really do appreciate your time and help.
It works now. I can’t tell you what exactly fixed it, but I did a combination of changing the icon to something els, renaming the view, and naming it back several times…and then recreating the view. It all looks good now.
