aclEntry.isServer = False and aclEntry.Name = "LocalDomainServers"

Hi, I’m using this code in a LotusScript agent:

'Open db before…

Set acl = db.ACL

Set aclEntry = acl.GetFirstEntry

While Not aclEntry Is Nothing

If Not aclEntry.isServer then

'do something with the aclentry

end if

Set aclEntry = acl.GetNextEntry(aclEntry)

Wend

But, for a value where aclEntry.Name is “LocalDomainServers” aclEntry.isServer is False!!! (i’m looking at it right now in the debugger). It also occurs for “OtherDomainServers”, both in the iNotes\help70_iwa_en.nsf database.

Why can this happen? Can I assume that this is supposed to be a person or something? Should I remove every aclEntry that has the string “Server” in it to avoid all server entries?

Subject: aclEntry.isServer = False and aclEntry.Name = “LocalDomainServers”

these are groups that are defaults in your Domino Directory, they are not servers. Usually you place all of your server names in the LocalDomainServers group, but it’s not a requirement if your environment is such that you shy away from default entries that Notes provides for you. In order for your script to return True, the UserType set for the group in the ACL would need to be ServerGroup or MixedGroup.
