Hi guys,
I need to set up an ACL monitor to send a mail to a database everytime a mail database ACL is changed.
I set up a new ACL event generator to do this and on one mail file it works fine but if I try to get it to monitor a whole folder, it doesn’t work. In the “File name” field I’ve tried Mail, Mail*.nsf and I’ve even exported all mail file names to a text file and pasted them into this field, seperated by a “;” with still no joy.
It’s looking like I have to find a third party app to do this. I’ve searched the forums and can only see one other posting regarding this from someone who had the same, unsolved problem.
Can anyone confirm that it’s definitely not possible?
Thanks,
Emma.

I suggest you create a database for just this process. The database would run a scheduled agent and collect the acl info from all the target databases (wildcards ok too) and create a document for each. Each document would be the acl as it is now. Then each time the schedule runs it creates another document for each database’s acl. You then need only create an agent that compares each document with the previous to see when changes have been made.
This also gives you the flexibility to control under what circumstances you don’t want notification to occur (admins change everyone’s acl).

Here is a free utility you can use to keep track of all the acls on the server, or those within certain folders. It’s more than you likely need for your task however, you can strip it down if you like.

Thanks Stan, you’re a star. I’m gonna test out that OpenNTF stuff now.
