How is it possible to achieve the equivalent of Exchange 2003 envelope journaling using Lotus Domino Server?

I don’t know of anything built-in, but it seems like it shouldn’t be too difficult to write a server add-in that uses the C API to register itself to be notified when emails are sent and received. It keeps a table of journaled mail files (for receiving) and usernames (for sending) and copies the message to a read-only storage.
Could be a good value-added piece for some business partner to write, if it doesn’t already exist.
