Hi, all, I’m running into some frustrating issues with a SmartPhone running Windows Mobile OS. Essentially, I am attempting to connect to our webserver (which is in the DMZ, outside our firewall), and am getting no where. Why is it, when using a PC with Internet Access I can get to the web server, but with this device I cannot? I can get to other public web pages without a problem. I keep reading about needing a port opened on the firewall, but if that is not necessary for my home PC (running Windows XP SP2), then why is it so for this device? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

I imagine that your webmail uses SSL and that the other websites that your are going to are not. Many hand held devices don’t support SSL.

Yes, that is what I’m discovering. The device I am using is running Windows Mobile, and IE 4.0. This web mail server running INotes needs IE 5.0 or better. We’ve also run into issues when using mNotes wirelessly because a port needs to be opened on the Firewall to allow access (even though the server is not inside our firewall). Thanks for the input.
