As I know since Domino Version R6 it is possible to restrict te Users Access to the Editor Level in his Mailfile because the User Delegation and the use of the Out of Office Agent will be done through the AdminP Process on the Server. This would be fine but the Editor Level for the User has a huge disadvantage ! Users cannot delete their own created Folders any longer . (Because they would change/delete a design element) I really would prefer the restriction of the Access Level but such simple thing must be possible ! Does someone have the same case and maybe a solution/workaround ? We wont give our Users the higher rights back because they always do what they shouldnt do…Greetings
Christian, my company is going through a similar exercise and I’ve just tested the ability to delete a folder I’ve created while only having Editor access to my mail file. It works.
What I had to do was highlight the folder I wanted to delete. Right mouse click and you should have a list of choices, one is Remove Folder. I clicked on that and was able to remove the folder.
Leave them at editor, but give your users the Create Personal Folders/Views option in the ACL - that will allow them to delete their own folders using the pulldown option.
Depends on what you want to keep them from doing. If you give them Designer access, they’d be able to delete folders, but they wouldn’t be able to delete their databases or alter permissions.
