Access Domino wirh Eclipse and Java

Hello,

i want to access a Domino Server via Java Program

The code is inplemented in an IDE Eclipse v 3.2 environment.

i don´t have install a notes client or a designer client on my mashine. I have added the NCSO.jar into the Eclipse Project as an external jar.

The program was correctly compiled. But when i start it as a java application i get the following error

Exception in thread “Thread-0” java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: lotus/domino/util/Platform

at lotus.domino.NotesThread.load(Unknown Source)

at lotus.domino.NotesThread.checkLoaded(Unknown Source)

at lotus.domino.NotesThread.initThread(Unknown Source)

at lotus.domino.NotesThread.run(Unknown Source)

i have monitored the start of the programm. an i have see, thet Eclipse need some notes dlls and another classes as:

14:06:05 javaw.exe:928 QUERY INFORMATION D:\Workspace\Dom_Log1\lotus\domino\NotesThread.class PATH NOT FOUND Attributes: Error

14:06:05 javaw.exe:928 QUERY INFORMATION D:\Workspace\Dom_Log1\lotus\domino\NotesException.class PATH NOT FOUND Attributes: Error

14:06:05 javaw.exe:928 QUERY INFORMATION D:\Workspace\Dom_Log1\lotus\domino\util\Platform.class PATH NOT FOUND Attributes: Error

It is possible to acces a Domino Server without a notes client on the local maschine ?

Whenn i copy the notes dlls or when i install a notes client on the mashine, the programm run without problems.

I have read about DIIOP. I have install and configured it on the Server. But i sispect, that the problem is on my local computer.

When i have installed the notes client locally then i can access the domino server as well. Whats is here wrong ? dDo i Need a JDBC API ?

Please help.

regards and greetings from Germany

NCSO.jar isn’t enough, you also need the Notes.jar file.More information is available in the Designer Help under index entry “NCSO.jar file”

i have already added both files into the java build path as libraries.

The program run well but only if it find localy dlls and so on. I want to access the domino server and the IIOP task must do the rest.

I find no way to do this.

I have read the developer help and the IBM docu

acces the domino objects part 1 and 2.

in this docu you fint the following:

Make sure the code can access the necessary classes. The classpath and path must be set as follows assuming that Notes or Domino software is installed at c:\lotus\domino:

Environment Classpath Path

Local application or servlet c:\lotus\domino\Notes.jar c:\lotus\domino

Remote application or servlet c:\lotus\domino\data\domino\java\NCSO.jar Not applicable

PATH is important for the local classes because Notes.jar needs to use the Notes/Domino binaries and Notes.ini.

If you are accessing Domino remotely from a computer that does not have Domino software, the NCSO archive must be copied to that computer. The classpath should reflect the location of the archive on the computer.

Subject: The form of createSession() you use determines if local access will be used or remote access

This is described in the article IBM - United States under “Local Calls” and “Remote Calls”.

So, if you need to access the domino server through CORBA and the remoted classes be sure to pass a server address/port information to the first argument in NotesFactory.createSession().

Hope this helps,

Hello Steve,i have found the Error.

i had every time run the java program with threads. This was wrong. I have now run the program only with a static main method(). And now the programm run “perfectly” and uses the CORBA classes !

thank you regards
