8.0.1 DWA Contact/Buddy List - 404 Bad HTTP Status

Hi folks,

I’m having a problem with DWA on 8.0.1 When a user tries to access their Sametime Buddy/Contact List from an external browser (i.e. outside the local network) they receive a “Bad HTTP Status: 404” error. When they are on the intranet, this error does not occur.

We have followed the steps in the technote http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3024&uid=swg21258358 to enable this feature. We have also set servlets.properties on the DWA server to include:

servlet.DWABuddyList.code=com.lotus.dwa.stbuddy.DWABuddyList

servlet.DWABuddyList.initArgs=stserver=

Presence awareness works for DWA externally, and the ST server can be accessed directly from a browser on the outside too.

So, any ideas as to what might be causing this? My guess is a firewall issue, but we’re sure that all ports are open, and it seems strange that ST works, but the buddy list does not.

Subject: resolved

It turned out to be a reverse proxy issue. The browser posts back to the DWA server the DWABuddyList servlet, and the reverse proxy configuration did not intercept this and point it at the DWA server (unless the rest of the DWA URLs). We changed the RP config, and all works well now.
