64-bit & 32-bit together on AIX

Hello,

For test purposes I need to install a 32-bit aix domino & 64-bit domino on one and the same aix system. Currently the system has 5 32-bit domino’s version 7.03 running ( partitioned ).

These servers will be upgraded to 8.02

At the same moment we will need to install the 64-bit core on the system. It’s a test system. We need to do this to test performance on 32-bit vs 64-bit etc. Can we do this ? I suppose we’ll need to install the 64-bit in a separate directory . Now it’s /opt/lotus/bin & /opt/lotus/notes . So my way of thinking was installing it under /opt/IBM/bin etc…

Anyone who can comment on this or give me some tips?

You’re on the right path. While this configuration is not recommended for a production environment, all that you will need to do to achieve your test is to ensure that the executible and data directories are unique. Your suggestion or something like /opt/ibm/dom{32,64}/lotus would suffice.
