We upgraded one of our 3 servers from 6.0.3 to 6.5.1 and let it upgrade the design of the domino directory. Replication ran and now the two 6.0.3 servers are running with a 6.5.1 domino directory design template. Is this dangerous ?

No problem, that’s the standard way of doing upgrades. Just don’t do this to the mail template if you still have R5 clients out there
