I installed 6.5.1 on a Thinkpad running WXP SP1 and could no longer connect to any servers. 6.5 works fine. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times, reset all TCP/IP parameters, etc. Examining the traffic, it appears that nothing goes out of the computer when trying to connect. (6.5.1 works fine on my Dell W2K desktop going to same servers. Meanwhile I’m back to 6.5 on the Thinkpad which works fine.)
Is anyone else having this kind of problem? If so, have you found a solution.

Might be a daft question, but what about firewall software? The old 6.5 install may have been recognised and allowed by the firewall, but that’s not to say that a new version will be greeted the same way.

It is an X31 Thinkpad.
As for firewalls, never reaches the external firewall and I even disabled the WXP firewall. Interestingly enough, the latest version of Skype (beta .97) has a similar problem (nothing goes out of the machine) but beta .96 works fine.
Other data points, the machine has Office 2003 on it and all of the latest IBM drivers.

Robert, what model Thinkpad are you using? Have you figured out the problem? I am running all 6.5.1 clients on my T41 fine.
