550 Invalid recipient/sender mailing address

I have one user who gets this error (550 Invalid recipient/sender mailing address) when sending to an outside email address. He doesn’t have any other known problems with sending email to anyone. We put a fresh install of the notes client on a new PC and he has the same problem. Also, other people in our company have no problem sending email to this same outside address. The problem seems to be confined to this one user.

I don’t know where to look next. Could the problem be at the destination mail server ?

check sender internet address in his person document in names.nsf on server

Looks like some problem in that.

What might be wrong ? It is JSmith@company.com. It follows the same format as our other users. HE has no problems sending mail to anyone else the we know of, just this one address.

Try using Telnet to manually send a message to the problem address. Use your problem user’s address as the MAIL FROM address.
