Subject: RE: 2nd post - troubles with hiding db design
It’s useless to say something doesn’t work without saying exactly how it doesn’t work. Where’s your code? If there’s an error message, what is the text of the message and which line of code does it occur on? See the how to ask a question document in the forum FAQs.
Subject: RE: 2nd post - troubles with hiding db design
Hy Andre,
sorry, i was deeply introduced to my problem i forgot to tell detailed information.
One of the errors:
I have a document created with form A. I save the document, then i call another form B to do some modifications to the document. I call the form B with some parameters (DocumentUniqueID and what action should be done).
In the WebQueryOpen of formb i call the Agent “C”. The Agents code looks like this:
Dim s As New NotesSession
Dim db As NotesDatabase
Dim v As NotesView
Dim sourcedoc As NotesDocument
Dim targetdoc As NotesDocument
Dim action As String
Dim docid As String
Set db = s.CurrentDatabase
Set v = db.GetView(“All”)
Set sourcedoc = s.DocumentContext
'See, if the agent runs…
Messagebox “Agent runs…”
'Read Fields from sourcedoc that are read from URLQueryString
action = sourcedoc.action(0)
docid = sourcedoc.id(0)
If action <> “” And docid <> “” Then
Set targetdoc = v.GetDocumentByKey(docid)
If Not(targetdoc Is Nothing) Then
Call targetdoc.ReplaceItemValue(“release”, “on”)
Call targetdoc.Save(True, False)
End If
End If
If save a document in a nonhidden database, the agent runs (i see “Agent runs…” in the servers console and in the logfile, too).
If database design is hidden, there is no message (Agent runs…) / no error in the server’ s logfile or in the serverconsole.
My fieldvalue in this document is also not be changed. No noteserror, nothing.
Any ideas, now?
Thx a lot
Ayhan

This is a roundabout way to do what you’re doing. It doesn’t seem to me that it should make any difference whether the design was hidden, but if you redesign this in a more direct way you can probably get it to work.
There’s no need to use OpenForm just to run an agent. Forget about formB. Just call the agent with OpenAgent URL command. You can read arguments off the URL using the Query_String item in the context document.
The code not working might have more to do with the design of formB than with the code you show here. Perhaps something about it is keeping it from working properly; if it has LotusScript code on it, maybe there’s a Use statement that refers to a script library that was compiled more recently than the code that calls it. Try a tools/recompile all from designer.

Hello Andre,
thaaaaaaank you very much. Recompiling Lotus Script did it. The known problems doesn’ t appear any more. The WebAgents work and everything seems ok. I’ ll do further tests to ensure, that everything works.
Thaaaaanky you, thank you, thank you.
