I found and applied this fix, but for this particular occasion, it did not work. Does anyone have any ideas?

This is caused by the client exiting Notes when selecting an email in a Private folder and having the “Restore as last viewed by user checked”. Notes has a problem when it remembers the status of the Preview pane is a folder the user creates.

To fix the problem, perform the following steps:

  1. open your mail

  2. make sure the “restore as last viewed” checkbox is ON.

  3. close the second tab that shows up (optional, works either way)

  4. select the INBOX from the normal Frameset tab

  5. Toggle the preview pane (if it is on, turn it off, if it is off, turn it on ALT-V-P-P)

  6. exit mail - come back in

  7. come back into the mail database - it should be fixed.

David, Go to the workspce, Hold the ctrl+Shift keys and right click on the Bookmarks.nsf. Select Database, GO TO, then select the hidden view (ByURL).

Open that view and delete the contents.

Note, once you select them and hit the delete key you will get the “Object variable not set” pop up, just ignore it.Hit F9 and select Yes.

Then shut down the client and relaunch.

Brilliant, thanks Felice. Interesting how this worked, yet when I deleted the bookmarks.nsf and desktop6.ndk and created new ones, the problem was still there!
