Zip files - Full-Text Search - Decompress files - DAOS - Estimate the real size?

Hi,

I have a database which have many documents containing zip files. It’s not possible with an FT-Search to find something in a zip file.

What types of attachments are supported by full text index?

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/search.wss?q=1316521

Indexing of .ZIP files are not supported by Notes and Domino.

So , I would like to decompress all those files.

I would like to know if it’s possible to estimate the total size of all the uncompress zip file?

Is their a formula to estimate the size before unzipping everything?

It’s mainly PDF and .doc files

We are planning to use the DAOS feture of Notes 8

The new Lotus Domino attachment and object service

Thank you

JYR

Subject: there is a tool

There is a tool called ZipMail indexer (www.mk-net-work.com) where you can full text index .zip attachments, so when a user makes a search then files inside a .zip file will be found as if they were uncompressed
