I have a user that can not access one of our servers in the domain. The other 6 servers she can access the databases but there is ONE server that she gets the not authorized on. I have created and deleted her twice. It is not that she can’t access any certain database when she does a ctrl-O to bring up the list of databases on the server she gets the not authorized error.
I checked the deny access group document on ALL servers. Checked the “can not access field” on all server document fields and it points simply to the deny access group. I can’t figure this one out
Where else might I check to see why she is being denied access to only one server in the domain. What am I missing
Subject: resolved
had to reboot that server. Notes caches the deny access group. Did a reboot and she was good to go
Really stupid to have to do that but I’ll add it to my list of “Stuff I dont like about Notes but You cant pry it from my cold dead hands cause it’s still better then anything else out there” list.
screw exchange and .not
Subject: sh nlcache reset
next time it happens try “sh nlcache reset” at the server console, should take care of it.
Subject: Thank you! This avoids a mid–day server reboot.
We had the problem where someone was placed in the “Deny Access” group, but was later removed. When they would try to log on they would get the error "you are not authorized to use the server."We did not want to reboot the server, so we sought for another solution and found yours.
As soon as I ran the console command the user was successfully able to log on.
Thank you kind stranger!
