Prior to 8.5.1 an administrator(listed in the ACL as a group member having manager access) was able to open a restored mail file. But now we cannot do this any more. Administrator gets “You are not authorized to perform this operation” error. Any thoughts why this is happening.

What was your mail db problem before restore? How did you restore it.Is it possible to provide the same db ( copy db w/ design and data, then you/db owner can delete the data that you don’t want it to be viewed), and add (Robert Paganetti/Westford/IBM, Joseph J Veilleux) to Manager in ACL?

Mail file owner: Editor Access System Administrators Groups: Manager Access
Default access: No Access
When mail file is restored, the Mail file owner can open it but the members of System Administrator group cannot.
I did a test and the only way the member of System Administrator group can open the mail file is by changing the default access to Manager.
