"You are not authorized" after selecting certain e-mail

Hi All,

We recently upgraded an office from Lotus Notes client 6.5.1 to 7.0.2. When one of our users opens e-mail from one particular person he then gets the following error: “Not a sub or function name: MARKMESSAGEFORFOLLOWUP” and “Class or type name not found: JUNKRULES”. I found the following doc that explains the problem: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21206363 however the e-mail in question in the root inbox, and I can’t seem to upgrade its folder design like it suggests, seems only applicable to sub-folders. As soon as you have tried to open this rouge e-mail, he then cant open any messages from any folder, you continually get “you are not authorized” messages. When I try to re-fresh or replace his mail file template design I get the following error: Design replace failed, you are not authorized to perform that action" even though he has manager access over his inbox (as do I). I think the issues are related. Any ideas how I can re-fresh his mail design? Further more, I can open his inbox on my work space, view this e-mail and work normally afterwards. Very strange!!

I have also forwarded the e-mail to another use and they can open it and work normally as well.

If it works fine from your computer then I would lean in the direction of some corruption on the user’s PC. Try renaming the bookmark.nsf file, this will get rid of any cached design elements which could be corrupt.

I have managed to replace the mail template with the standard mail 7 .ntf, re-created the bookmarks.nsf and updated all the folder designs. However it still does the same thing, when this particular e-mail comes in (which is does daily) after that its “you are not authorized” all the way until you re-start notes.

The only other thing of notes is that one of the pictures in this e-mail doesn’t show up, just a red box with a red X in the corner. It may be the image is unavailable, but also may help…

also try deleting cache.ndk file. What is the nature of the e-mail? Does it come from an automated process? Is there any access restrictions on the document like a readers or authors field? Does the e-mail contain a stored form?

I have re-named the cache.ndk on his machine and still no joy. I can the web address in notes to the images using IE and notes but they still dont display, but was what is odd is the “you are not authorised” after the e-mail is opened.

You could try to give a server command:load convert -u [mailfile] * [template]

Please do not forget the * in the command.
