"@xxxx" sign appends to the group names when sending email. result -> mail routing not working

Hello,

I came to work this morning and this is what happened:

There is a goup : VSS_Kosice

Someone tried to send an email to this group, but noone received it. Than we took a look into his “sent” folder in his mail box and we saw that the group in the send to field looked like this: VSS_Kosice@VALEO

This is not the only group that causes this problem as we found out later. It was working just great a day before.

Do you have any idea what is causing this problem?

Well, this problem has appeared some time ago when we upgraded antivirus. It was working fine for about a month and than the warnings stoped to be sent to the users. I took a look into the logs and I saw that all mails were sent to the proper persons, but email adresses of the persons had “@VALEO” string attached to them and the result was that mail routing was not working. We solved the problem → stoped notifying all the users, only admins

Thank you very much for your help.

Ok, the problem seems to be solved by opening the group, refreshing the document and saving it afterwards.

Any idea what could cause this strange behavior?

The problem with mail routing with antivirus still remains
