Xpages, pager, views and search engine friendliness

The answer to this is probably “yeah, duh, of course…” but just checking.

I’m considering using as a site index (to a very large site) a view displayed with an xpage, using the pager control.

I tested it last night with Lynx version 2.8.7 rel.2, to see how well a search engine would fare with such an index.

Lynx sees the paging numbers, and they are “clickable” in Lynx – but, nothing happens. As it, the view items displayed don’t actually change. Instead, if you “clicked” on say page 10, the cursor just shoots back to page 2 of the view (while view 1 is still displayed.) Not sure what is up there…

So, I’m left with the impression that a search engine robot would not be able to crawl through a view in an xpage with an pager control on it.

So, the answer is – I set the view up wrong? Or, yeah, duh, obviously a robot won’t be able to navigate it…
