XPage update in DDE does not appear in browser

  • I have an XPage that I’m learning how to do XPage layout on. Today I changed around the images and did some things I thought would be a little fancier for layout, but those changes don’t appear when I refresh the page. I still see the old version before the changes.- I made all the changes in the “Source” tab for various nested custom controls that appear as one custom control entry on the main XPage. DDE doesn’t show any errors on save and the Domino console shows no error on page load. The “Design” tabs for all the Custom Controls show the updated content, as does the “Design” tab on the XPage itself. It simply won’t render those changes.

  • It’s consistent across Firefox, the browser used for development, and Exploiter, never loaded at all today except to check out this issue. It appears to be Domino essentially ignoring the Design update shown in DDE.

  • I’ve triple-checked the URL; there’s only one XPage in there, and it’s the only XPage (of two in my entire life) I’ve create with this name, so it’s hard to get that part wrong. (wide grin)

  • I cleared cache on the browser, quit http/flushed dbcache/loaded http, completely closed the browser and logged back into the XPage, and even bounced Domino. No matter what there are no errors and the XPage is the wrong one.

  • I searched for “XPage AND update” but all the hits are about partial updates. I also searched for “XPage AND render”, plus “XPage AND refresh”, though no hits appeared relevant to this.

  • Any clues where to look? I’m going to reboot to see what that does. Thanks for your time…

Subject: GLITCH: There was a hidden error dialog w/o entries on the “Problems” tab…

  • As I closed DDE I saw the error dialog with three entries, but it almost instantly disappeared. So I reloaded the db in DDE and there are still no problems in evidence, though I’m pretty certain there are problems of some sort.- If I “dirty” all of the Custom Controls & the XPage, then resave them all, there are still no errors. If I close DDE, there is no dialog of errors briefly visible like before.

  • NOW it loads with the changes. Guess it was a spurrious deal.
