Would the Notes ID file enlarge in size?

Hi,

I would like to ask :

Would the Notes ID file enlarge in size ? And why ? It is because I am wondering if the Notes ID file can be stored in the smart card or smart token.

Wish somebody can give me an answer.

Yes, it will grow as certificates and secret encryption keys are added, as name changes accrue, and so forth. The ID is the only place most of that sort of stuff is stored, and most of it is encrypted. It should never be bigger than a few KB at the most.

I heard that private folders or private views will cause the ID File to enlarge too. Is that true?

Private views can be stored either in the database, or in the user’s Desktop file … they won’t effect the ID file though.

Hi,

Would somebody experience the ID file size grows larger than 32KB ? It is because I want to place it in the smart card as a secure storage. Anybody has such experience and kindly advise me.
