I have no idea how to solve this… I will later test 8.5 or just use Wine… But i’d really like to use the same version as everbody else (atm I’m testing out the linux environment…)
Same thing(s) happening to me. Notes 8.5 beta, just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 and my text disappeared (was fine in 8.4.) And some of the fonts looked pretty bad (unreadable) before (luxi, etc etc.) My most important view is Default Sans 8 pt and it’s horrible - just about unusable.
No one else is having this problem? I figured with the latest Ubuntu out now this would have come up more by now. I have tried reinstalling Notes but still no luck. Tough to read with no text on the Workspace.
I’m having the same problem with Ubuntu and Notes 8.5 Beta 2. Since updating to Ubuntu 8.10 this problem appeared. No fonts are missing on my system. Has anybody found out why?On the following website is the problem reported too, but no solution found yet: Lotus Notes 8.5b2 on Ubuntu Intrepid | Vito Blog
The problem is solved for me. Unfortunately I do not know exactly what is the reason why it works now. Since I did not have the fonts, I closed the workspace and tried to create a custom home page, but I saw that I does not fit my needs, so I hit the button to restore as from start and then to give me the defaults. I reopened the workspace and - big surprise - fonts on workspace tabs and database icons appeared!
As soon as Notes is restarted, the problem is back. But When I close the workspace and reopen it, the fonts are displaying. The problem is also on Notes 8.5 Final!
I’ve tried the “Switch ID” trick, but it did not work. The “change the home page” trick did work for me, but again once the system was rebooted, the problem remained.
The only way I have to access the bookmarks is from open > applications > tab 1 (workspace).
