Work Queue Depth

We are running on Domino 6.5.4 and have 2 clustered mail servers hosting 2500 accounts. We have recently had a domino audit as a precursor to an upgrade to ND8. One of the audit recommendations was to increase the number of cluster replicators to help reduce the ‘Work Queue Depth’ that we were seeing. The one thing missing from the recommendation was to what level to increase the number of cluster replicators. The IBM recommendation is 1 less than the number of processors but this still does not tell us what to aim for in terms of results. My opinion is that the number of cluster replicators can only be used to improve recovery time when an email is sent to a large distribution list because the ‘Average’ and ‘Max’ figures are blown out of the water when a message is sent to the whole company.

Hi,

I’Ve went to a few clients and it was between 4 and 7 instances on each servers.

If it’s not the case, You also need to add connections documents between your servers just in case the clusters replicator misses some replications. It is an event driven task, so if your servers crashes, your replicas will be desynchronize.

By the way, have you monitor your number of documents between your mail files?

Quotas don’t replicate…
